What the timeline shows
Three things stand out. First, the black ops darknet market's real growth window is 2025–2026: it appeared weeks before the ecosystem's biggest turnover event (Archetyp's seizure and Abacus's exit), and every quantitative source that measures it afterwards shows it climbing. Second, the qualitative sources freeze in early 2025 — CACI still sees a drug boutique — while the quantitative sources of 2026 see a top-five generalist. Third, the portal content wave of autumn 2026 arrives after the research attention, which is the usual order of operations: SEO follows the news, not the other way around.
Missing from the record: any UNODC mention. The World Drug Report 2026 (26 June 2026) does not name this market — worth remembering whenever a portal claims UN-level recognition for it.
