Black Ops vs Torzon: NDARC Numbers and Intel Claims

SOCRadar's 2026 top-10 puts Torzon at #2 and the black ops market at #3. NDARC's scrapes put a wider gap between them than any ranking admits. Here is the honest head-to-head, on measured data first and claims second.

Measured: the scraped record

Torzon vs Blackops — NDARC drug listings
SnapshotTorzonBlackopsRatio
January 2026 (13 markets)7,7555,0061.55×
May 2026 (19 markets)10,479top-five finish, exact count inside the five≈1.5–2×

On the only measured series available, Torzon leads — but the two move together. Both grew through the window in which NDARC's total climbed from 26,462 to 55,785 listings (+2.8%/month), and both finished inside the final month's top five alongside Drughub, Nexus and MarsMarket. Whatever separates them, an extinction event does not.

Claimed: rankings and displayed counts

SOCRadar's June 2026 editorial ranking — "based on cybercrime relevance, marketplace activity, visible category structure, listing estimates where available" — orders the top three as Russian Market, Torzon Market (57,000+ displayed listings), Black Ops Market (89,000+ displayed listings). Note the inversion: the market ranked third displays more listings than the market ranked second. SOCRadar does not publish how the badge counts were weighed against relevance; the ranking is editorial, and the dossier records it as such.

Reading the comparison

Torzon is the incumbent: two years older, multi-coin, anointed by Chainalysis as Abacus's successor, named by UNODC, and positioned as a wholesale node feeding other markets. The black ops darknet market is the challenger: a year and a half younger, ideologically Monero, vendor-courtship as a growth strategy, and a harm-reduction program that no competitor has matched in the public record. The measured gap (1.5–2× on drug listings) is real; SOCRadar's displayed-count inversion (89k vs 57k) is exactly the badge-vs-scrape problem the method page warns about, and should not be quoted as "Black Ops is bigger" without that caveat.

Other side of this file: the independent Torzon Market field notebook covers Torzon's own history, escrow mechanics and fake-mirror ecosystem with the same no-addresses rule.
